It can be very frustrating when a machine that your organization needs doesn’t seem to be on the market. In our early years, when we lacked some of these tools, we began building our own machines that fit our own specifications.

Tribis Custom Machines is the portion of Tribis that is devoted to creating custom machinery; especially machines that are designed to test materials or products. Machines that can accurately gauge the tolerance, stress, wear and friction of materials and parts are extremely valuable in determining whether a product will withstand the trials of use, or will be subject to expensive recalls and material failures.

We at Tribis have developed stress and friction testing machines for many years, and these machines have saved a great number of faulty products from being sent out and consequently recalled. It can take a very long time to set up tests and break down machines, and because of this Tribis tries to avoid doing so if at all possible. We at Tribis have automated machines for many years, and we try to incorporate this experience into as many of our machines as we can. Our philosophy is that our machines should be low input and easy to use, because this saves us time effort, and expenses.

Tribis Tribometers, for instance, are unique in the field in part because they are automated and can quickly characterize materials without technicians or operators overseeing them.
